Institutional Arrangements. I understand that the University does not represent or act as an agent for, and cannot control the acts or omissions of, any host institution, host family, transportation carrier, hotel, tour organizer or other provider of goods or services involved in the Program. 1. I understand and acknowledge to CBU that the applicable policies, rules, and regulations of the University and Study Abroad Program apply to me throughout the Program and I will abide by such policies, rules and regulations.  I acknowledge that I will be subject to sanctions enforced by the University if I am not in compliance with these rules and regulations, including without limitation loss of monies paid to the Program, early termination from the Program, and disciplinary consequences up to and including expulsion.  I also understand that I must comply with each foreign country’s laws and standards of acceptable conduct, including dress, manners, morals, politics, drug use and behavior. I recognize that behavior violating those laws or standards could harm the University's relations with those countries and the institutions therein, as well as my own health and safety. I will become informed of, and will abide by, all such laws and standards for each country to or through which I will travel during the Program.  I understand that it is within the faculty directors’ discretion to determine that my violation of such rules and regulations warrants my termination from the Program.  I understand that being a participant of the Program is a privilege and that any misconduct on my part may result in dismissal from the Program as well as subject me to Judicial Action as provided in the CBU Student Handbook.

  • Student Conduct: Because of CBU’s foundation in the Christian faith, and as a basis of its expectations of participant conduct, it is expected that all participants will adhere to biblical teachings regarding moral and ethical practices. As a participant, you are ultimately responsible for your own choices and actions.  However, you are also a student representing California Baptist University, and you must recognize the academic authority and leadership of the leadership. Students will not travel alone, and will exercise a heightened awareness for the safety of their belongings, their classmates and themselves.

Any official personal documents that are not in order.
Consequences of my own negligence, carelessness, or failure to follow CBU or Provider policy or instructions, including, without limitation, my carrying or transporting contraband across any border.

4. I understand that all arrangements for travel, accommodations and other necessary services are made by the Study Abroad Provider or myself and that CBU shall not be held liable for claims arising from such arrangements and services.

5. I acknowledge that my participation in the Study Abroad Program is completely voluntary and is provided by CBU as a benefit to me. As a participant of the Program, I recognize and acknowledge that there are certain risks of physical injury and other injuries and losses, and I agree to assume the full risk of any injuries, including death, damages, or losses which I may sustain as a result of my participation in the Program, or connected or associated with such participation.
