Emergencies

California Baptist University encourages students and families to research and find out the emergency contacts ahead of study abroad travel. Students should follow the basic steps below in case of emergency:
  • Get immediate emergency assistance. Find out the local equivalent of 911 in advance so that you can get help quickly.
  • Notify your in-country contact (host institution or program provider emergency contact).
  • Contact your insurance provider. Make sure you carry an insurance card so that this information is on hand.
  • Contact the Director of Academic Engagement or the Office of the Provost. During regular business hours (M - F, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm PST), you can reach us at +1 (951) 552-8865.
  • Contact the nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate.  Staff abroad are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide emergency help to U.S. citizens.  You can also call the Office of Overseas Citizen Services in the State Department’s Bureau of Consular Affairs for emergency assistance at +1 (202) 501-4444.
