International Studies Abroad (ISA)

GO (Global Opportunity) Full-Ride Scholarship

ISA will award one scholarship each year to a participating student for the full list price of the ISA program. The GO Full-Ride Scholarship can be used for an ISA program and covers the full program fee. In order to be considered for this scholarship, all applicants must apply and meet the eligibility requirements for one of the other ISA scholarships by the deadline. There will be one GO Full-Ride Scholarship awarded per year.

Diversity Scholarship
This scholarship is offered for summer and semester programs and is intended for students with identities historically underserved in education abroad. This can include, but is not limited to, individuals who identify as African American/Black, Hispanic/Latino, Asian American, Alaskan Native, American Indian, Native Hawaiian, First-Generation College Students, U.S. Military Veterans, students with disabilities, and/or students at Minority-Serving Institutions.

Semester Partnership Scholarship
These merit and financial need-based scholarships assist semester students from affiliated universities with the expenses of studying abroad. Applicants for this scholarship must exhibit financial need via supporting documents, including your home university financial aid award letter and Student Aid Report.

Summer Pathways Scholarship
These merit and financial need-based summer term scholarships are dedicated to the memory of Michaela Farnum, a very involved Seattle University student who worked with various youth and campus organizations. Applicants for this scholarship must exhibit financial need via supporting documents, including your home university financial aid award letter and Student Aid Report.

Community Engagement Scholarship
This scholarship, exclusively for participants enrolled in an ISA Service-Learning program, is offered in memory of Kalyn Peterson who leaves behind a legacy of promoting diversity and putting others’ needs before her own. Visit the ISA Service-Learning page for more details.

Sibling Grant - $350 - $500
Did your sibling participate in an ISA, TEAN, or WorldStrides program of any length? If so, you will qualify for the repeat student grant amounts (listed below) towards your ISA program. Eligible students only need to inform ISA of their sibling’s enrollment, and the grant award will be applied to your account.

Repeat Student Grant - $350 - $500
ISA is always happy to welcome back alumni! Eligible students only need to inform ISA of their previous enrollment, and the grant award will be applied to your account. If you have already participated in an ISA, TEAN or WorldStrides program of any length (including study abroad, Internship, Service-Learning, WorldStrides Custom Programs, or EuroScholars), and you are now enrolling in an ISA program.

 
University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC)

Regional Scholarships
Multiple awards ranging from $500-$1,000 will be awarded each semester.
Scholarships are available for each of the five geographic regions with USAC programs (Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and Oceania). All degree-seeking students with a minimum 3.0 GPA are eligible. 
For the Regional Scholarships, USAC programs are divided as follows:
  • Africa and Middle East: Israel, Ghana, South Africa, Turkey
  • Asia: India, China, Japan, South Korea, Thailand
  • Europe: Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Scotland, Spain, Sweden
  • Latin America: Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Cuba, Uruguay
  • Oceania: Australia, New Zealand

Dr. Marianne Cooley Study Abroad Scholarship – China
Degree-seeking students attending the Chengdu or Shanghai, China programs with a minimum 2.5 GPA are eligible for this scholarship, which will be awarded each semester.

Frank and Thu Triplett Study Abroad Scholarship – France
Degree-seeking students with a minimum 2.5 GPA attending the Lyon or Pau, France programs are eligible for this scholarship, which will be awarded each fall and spring semester.

Janice Proctor Memorial Scholarship - Torino, Italy (Fall)/Thailand (Spring)
Fall eligibility: Degree-seeking students participating in the Torino, Italy program. Preference will be given to students with high financial need.
Spring eligibility: Degree-seeking students participating in a Thailand program who are declared majors or minors in political science, legal studies, pre-law, nursing, and/or pre-nursing. Preference will be given to students with high financial need.

Frank and Carol Nota – Italy
Two $500 awards will be given in Summer and one $1000 award will be given in Spring.
Degree-seeking students with a declared major or minor in English, history, anthropology, sociology, psychology, Italian language/cultural studies, or education and a minimum 3.0 GPA attending a Summer or Spring Italy program are eligible. 

Carmelo Urza - San Sebastián, Spain/Bilbao, Spain
An award of $2,000 will be granted each fall and spring.
Degree-seeking students who are NABO members or whose parents are NABO members, hold a 3.2 GPA or above, and are participating on the San Sebastián or Bilbao program are eligible to apply. 

Félix Menchacatorre Memorial Scholarship - San Sebastián, Spain/Bilbao, Spain
This $500 memorial scholarship available each semester.
Minimum 2.75 GPA attending the San Sebastián or Bilbao program. 

Kody Bressman Memorial Scholarship - San Sebastián, Spain
Multiple awards ranging from $500-$2,500 will be awarded each semester.
Degree-seeking students participating in a San Sebastián program with a minimum GPA of 2.75 are eligible. 

Posthumous Tom Tjaarda Scholarship - Torino, Italy
A $1,500 scholarship will be granted.
Need to be a degree-seeking student with a declared major or minor in Architecture, Art, Design, Italian Language/Studies, Marketing, Graphics, Fashion, Film, or Photography attending the Spring Torino program.
